JAKARTA - Chairman of the Judicial Commission (KY) Amzulian Rifai revealed a special message from President Prabowo Subianto to the 13 candidates for Supreme Court justices who will undergo a fit and proper test at Commission III of the DPR RI. One of them is for the judges to restore public trust in the judiciary.
"Mr. Prabowo, I once received a special message to restore public trust in the judiciary, we did that," said Amzulian Rifai in a meeting with Commission III of the DPR at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, September 8.
Amzulian ensured that the 13 candidates for Supreme Court justices proposed by KY to take part in the fit and proper test at the DPR had gone through a rigorous selection process since February 2025. The process includes administration, track records, psychological examinations, and medical tests at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital.
"We involve an authorized institution to find out the level of honesty of a person. We are working with a psychologist. We ensure that the prospective judge fulfills his health, we are working with the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, so we have done it all," he explained.
Amzulian said that although Commission III of the DPR previously asked for 17 names of candidates for Supreme Court justices, KY only passed 13 people. Because according to him, the selection is based on quality, not numbers.
"We certainly are not based on the amount needed but the basis is those who pass that stage," he said.
Amzulian pun menegaskan bahwa 13 nama yang diusulkan sudah dipastikan bebas dari intervensi maupun praktik korupsi, kolusi, dan nepotisme (KKN).
"Therefore, the 13 candidates for Supreme Court justices out of the 17 requested are those we declare zero KKN," he concluded.
The administrative selection for the registration period for prospective judges KY and Supreme Court judges was carried out from March 6 to March 7, 2025, and was extended to April 10, 2025.
