DPR Issues Six Points Of Decision In Response To Claims 17+8

JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) answered the 17+8 demands submitted by various groups by issuing six points of decision that had been agreed upon by political party factions in the DPR RI.

The answer was conveyed by the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, at a press conference at the parliament complex, Jakarta, Friday. He said that the response was a form of transparency of the DPR to evaluate it in total.

"We convey the results of the decision of the DPR leadership consultation meeting with the leaders of the DPR RI factions which was held yesterday on Thursday, September 4, 2025," said Dasco.

The first point, namely the DPR RI, is to agree to stop providing housing allowances for members of the DPR RI starting on August 31, 2025.

Then second, the DPR RI conducts a moratorium on working abroad visits to the DPR RI starting from September 1, 2025, except for attending state invitations.

Third, the DPR RI will cut allowances and facilities for members of the DPR after the evaluation includes subscription fees.

"There is electricity and telephone service costs, then intensive communication costs and transportation allowance fees," he said.

The fourth point is that members of the Indonesian House of Representatives who have been deactivated by their political parties have not paid their financial rights.

Then the fifth point, the DPR leadership followed up on the deactivation of several members of the DPR RI which had been carried out by their respective political parties by asking the Honorary Court of the DPR RI to coordinate with the courts of their respective political parties that had started the examination of the members of the DPR RI in question.

Then finally the sixth point, the DPR RI will strengthen transparency and meaningful public participation in the legislative process and other policies.
