TANJUNG CELLOR Provincial Government (Pemprov) of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) recorded proud achievements in the health sector. As of August 1, 2025, the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) coverage in Kaltara has reached 99.22 percent, exceeding the national target set in the RPJMN of 98.6 percent.
Head of the North Kalimantan Health Service (Dinkes), Usman, said this achievement was the result of the local government's hard work in increasing the participation of the National Health Insurance (JKN) for the people of Kaltara.
"If we look at it, the scope of JKN participants in Kaltara is already above the RPJMN target. This means that Kaltara is in the very good category," said Usman, Thursday, September 4.
He revealed, based on data, the highest achievement was in Malinau Regency with 100.56 percent, followed by Tarakan City 99.77 percent, Bulungan Regency 99.7 percent, Tana Tidung Regency 99.06 percent and Nunukan Regency 97.7 percent.
"Meanwhile, the active level of JKN participants in Kaltara has reached 84.12 percent, exceeding the national average which is only targeted at 80 percent," he said.

Usman emphasized that even though the UHC achievement was already high, the North Kalimantan Health Office would continue to encourage an increase in active JKN participation until the end of 2025.
"Hopefully we can achieve UHC above 98 percent both in terms of coverage and activeness of participants. In essence, our achievements are already better than the national average," he said.
He also invited the people of Kaltara who have not been registered in the BPJS Health JKN program to immediately register through their respective district/city governments.
"We urge residents, especially those with Kaltara ID cards, to ensure that they are registered and whose membership is active. Do not let it be registered, but the card is not active," he concluded.
