6 Bodies Identified At The Location Of The Helicopter Crash In Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan

TANAH BUMBU Team Anggrek 1 Nangka Branch found the BK117 D3 helicopter wreck that crashed in the Gunung Bunatan forest area, Emil Baru Village, Mentewe District, Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan. From the scene, six victims' bodies were detected, partly in a fire condition.

Remisor, a member of the team and the first witness at the location, said he saw the first body about 50 meters from the helicopter carcass on Wednesday, September 3 at 14:45 WITA.

"A body was seen prone, white skin, large body. Around the scorched helicopter, wood and trees were also damaged," he said at Command Post 3 Emil Baru Village, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 4.

According to him, there are six bodies that can be recognized although most of them are separate pieces of the body. Two of them are still intact enough to be identified. The rest were burned down," he added.

Remission said, two days before the discovery, he had seen a helicopter passing over Emil Baru Village with an unusual engine sound and emitting smoke before it disappeared covered in fog around the mountain.

"Usually the sound of a flashy helicopter, but at that time the sound was different, like a delay," he said.
