JAKARTA - Serpong Police Dormitory in South Tangerang, Banten, caught fire on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, afternoon. Several houses were reported to have caught fire. Residents suspect the fire originated from an electric short circuit.

"About 16 were burned, but he said some were affected. Kalu was the cause," said the information officer for the short circuit," said Andi Kurniawan (27 years old), a resident around the Serpong Police Dormitory, quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

He said the fire incident occurred at 14.00 WIB. The fire is thought to have come from behind one of the houses on the front. However, due to strong winds, a number of houses on the side were also burned.

Residents who knew there was a fire immediately saved themselves and brought a number of items that could be brought, including existing official vehicles.

Firefighters assisted by residents immediately tried to extinguish the fire which spread very quickly to other buildings. A number of items belonging to the occupants were burned down

"If there is no victim, but most of the goods cannot be taken out because the fire quickly flares up," he said.
