Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sukamta, urged the government to immediately investigate the shooting incident that befell an Indonesian diplomat, Zetro Leonardo Purba in Lima, Peru in a complete and transparent manner.

Sukamta emphasized that the shooting of diplomats was a very serious act and violated the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which ensures the safety and security of diplomats in the placement country.
"The Peruvian government is obliged to provide protection, guarantee security, and ensure there is no more threat to Indonesian diplomatic staff," said Sukamta.
He also asked the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately increase coordination with Interpol, the United Nations, and Peru security authorities so that this case can be revealed immediately. "PKS encourages the Indonesian government to take strategic diplomatic steps to ensure maximum protection for all Indonesian diplomatic representatives abroad," concluded Sukamta.
