PDIP Apologizes For Deddy Sitorus-Sadarestuwati's Attitude To Call The People Jelata And Dance

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) apologized to the public for the statements and attitudes of its two cadres, namely DPR Member Deddy Yevri Sitorus and Sadarestuwati, who mentioned the common people and dancing after the announcement of the increase in DPR salaries to reap polemics in the last few days.

"As a member of the PDI-P faction on behalf of Mr. Dedi Sitorus, Mrs. Sadarestuwati, I sincerely apologize if there was a mistake, a mistake made by Mr. Dedi Sitorus. With all humility, we apologize", said the chairman of the PDIP DPP, Said Abdullah at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, September 1.

"If there are mistakes, mistakes made by Mr. Dedi and Mrs. Sadarestu, with all humility, we apologize," he continued.

Said asked the public to give the opportunity to Deddy Sitorus and Sadarestuwati to improve themselves.

"Regarding the things that were mentioned earlier, Mr. Deddy Sitorus, Sadarestuwati, in our opinion, in terms of the PDI-P faction, with our sovereignty and autonomy, give the Party's DPP opportunity," he said.

Said said the incident was a blow and a heavy lesson for members of the DPR PDIP faction. He admitted that both of them had to be evaluated so that in the future they would no longer act against ethics.

"But we saw it, what Mr. Deddy Sitorus said or then Mrs. Sadarestuwati, ethically we are all a lesson for us to use diction or taste that creates empathy and sympathy for the people," he said.

Even so, Said said, until now the PDIP DPP has not made an official decision regarding sanctions or warnings to both of them. However, he emphasized that the party would use this event as an important lesson for all cadres.

"Yes, until now the DPP has not made a decision. And as I can see, like Ibu Sadarestuwati, it's the same as too many dancing when the actual event is over, just want to show diversity, the song from the East, right," he concluded.
