Prevent COVID-19 Transmission, Task Force Asks People Not To Physically Contact

JAKARTA - Spokesperson of the Task Force on Handling COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito asked the public not to physically conduct contact in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is to prevent the transmission of viruses that can have a fatal impact.

"What we need to note, through physical contact we have the potential to transmit or transmitted COVID-19. Surely this can have a fatal impact and I am sure we do not want to regret it," Wiku said in a press conference posted on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube account, Tuesday, May 11.

In addition, he also asked the public not to force themselves to go home during the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Although understanding many people, including himself, misses the family in the hometown but all parties are asked to refrain.

Because, if the community remains insistent on homecoming, it can potentially transmit the virus and this harms many parties. In addition, the community will also be forced to turn back if caught forcing homecoming.

"If we impose homecoming will have the potential to harm ourselves both in terms of losing time, material. Remembering will eventually be forced to turn around," he said.

Wiku said that if there is no increase in COVID-19 transmission, the war on the virus will certainly be close to victory. However, it takes extra effort to achieve it and one of them is not homecoming.

"Refraining and not going home will be one of the important solutions to reduce the transmission of COVID and deaths due to COVID," he said.
