Prabowo Gives Home To Family Realizing Affan's Dream For Mother

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto during a visit to the funeral home of the late Affan Kurniawan in Jakarta, met the victim's family and gave them a house to the deceased's family. This formula is Affan's dream for his mother, Herlina.

The President arrived at the funeral home, which is a 3x11 meter rented house in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, at 21.50 WIB, to directly convey their condolences to the family, as well as listen to their complaints and hopes.

"You came directly to the house. You visited the residence of the deceased, and also earlier you provided assistance. Assistance, all that the family wants, you fulfill, including houses," said Deputy Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Wamendes PDT) Ahmad Riza Patria as reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 29.

Riza then told that the house owned by the family was an ideal that Affan wanted to realize for his mother, considering that Affan and his family had been renting in a tenement house.

Affan, a young man born in 2004, dropped out of school at the age of 14 and then worked as a portal guard for 2 years. Affan then underwent his profession as an online motorcycle rider (ojol) until the end of his life. Riza said that the late Affan had saved and bought a piece of land for his family in Lampung and had also bought a motorbike for his younger sister.

Regarding the housing assistance provided by the President to the Affan family, Riza explained that the house was located in the Cileungsi area, Bogor Regency, West Java. "Mr. Ara has already given it, especially his mother," said Riza.

Ara in question refers to the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas of Maruarar Sirait.

Riza continued that President Prabowo, when conveying his condolences to his family, also conveyed to them that the perpetrators who killed Affan were immediately dealt with as hard as he could.

At the funeral home, the ranks of ministers who took part in the pilgrimage with the President included Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno. There is also Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto.

Affan Kurniawan died because he was run over by a Barracuda tactical vehicle belonging to Brimob Polri in the Jalan Purification I area, Bendungan Hilir, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (28/8) night. Affan was declared dead when he was taken to RSCM, Central Jakarta. Seven policemen who are inside the Barracuda have now been named suspects and detained. Their examination was carried out by the Propam Division of the Police Headquarters.
