Demonstrators Burn Gegana Headquarters In Kramat Raya Senen

JAKARTA - The warehouse belonging to Gegana Polri on Jalan Kramat Raya, Senen District, Central Jakarta, was burned by the masses. According to information compiled by VOI, Gegana's headquarters is a former Central Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters office. Then it was transferred to the headquarters of Gegana's warehouse.

Inside the building area, it is suspected that there were KDO vehicles belonging to the National Police including tactical vehicles (Rantis) or Barakuda. The joint crowd who came to Gegana Headquarters fired firecrackers into the inside of the building. Then a few minutes later, they burst into the building area and set fire.

"As far as I know, in the past, the room that was burned was the former SPK room (police service center) of the Central Jakarta Police. Now, I don't know what place it is," said Wawan, a local resident who witnessed the mass burning.

The fire then grew slowly. While the masses were still at the location while venting their emotions.

The crowd also dismantled the police's equipment which was still neatly stored in the cardboard box. The crowd then took the police equipment.

"Sir, don't burn it, sir. Sir, don't burn it, sir. Sir, sir, sir, don't burn it, sir," said a man from behind the fence at Gegana Headquarters.

Even the man whose identity has not been identified, reminded the masses not to be provoked.

"Bang, don't provocation, sir. Hey, bro, it's done bro. Hoy sir, it's over, sir. Bang, it's over," he said.

The man who forbade the masses also appealed to the masses not to burn the building.

"If you take it, please, but don't burn it," he said.
