Prabowo Promises To Pay Special Attention To Ojol Driver's Family Who Was Run Over By Rantis Brimob

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto promised the government would pay special attention to the family of the late Affan Kurniawan who died during a clash between the masses and the demonstrators, Thursday, August 28.

On Thursday night, Affan was hit and run over by a tactical vehicle belonging to Brimob on Jalan Purification, Central Jakarta, so that his life could not be saved.

"I am very concerned and very sad about this incident. The government will guarantee the life of its family, and give special attention to both its parents, brothers and sisters," Prabowo said in a video caption, Friday, August 29.

According to Prabowo, the demonstration on Thursday had led to anarchic acts. However, he was disappointed by the actions of the police officers who hit and ran over Affan Kurniawan.

"Ladies and gentlemen, once again, I am surprised and disappointed by the excessive actions of the officers," Prabowo explained.

Prabowo has ordered that last night's incident be thoroughly and transparently investigated, and the officers involved must be held accountable.

"If it is found that they are acting out of accordance and applicable regulations, we will take strict action according to applicable law," he said.
