JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives from the NasDem faction, Ahmad Sahroni, was removed from the position of chairman of the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives after his controversial statement that called the people 'World People' viral on social media.

The removal was known from a letter numbered F.NasDem.758/DPR-RI/VIII/2025 signed by Sahroni himself as Secretary of the DPR NasDem Faction. The letter was also signed by the Chairman of the NasDem Faction, Viktor Bangtilu Laiskodat dated August 29, 2025.

With this letter, Sahroni was officially replaced by Rusdi Masse Mappasessu as Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR. Initially, Rusdi was a member of Commission IV of the DPR in charge of agricultural affairs.

"According to the meeting of the leadership of the NasDem faction of the DPR RI, we respectfully convey the change of names of members of Commission III and IV starting on August 29, 2025 from the NasDem Faction, namely Dr. H Ahmad Sahroni, SE, MIKom originally Deputy Chairman of Commission III became a member of Commission I," the letter quoted.

"H. Rusdi Masse Mappasessu was originally a member of Commission IV as Deputy Chairman of Commission III," he added.

As a result of the noise, Sahroni is now assigned to become a member of Commission I of the DPR in charge of international relations.

Previously, Ahmad Sahroni responded to the call of the public who considered that the DPR should be disbanded. He said anyone can criticize the DPR RI, but should not be cursing, because it can be mentally damaging.

"The human mentality is the world's most remote human mentality. Note this, people who only mentally say disbandment of the DPR, it is the world's stupid person," said Ahmad Sahroni during a working visit at the North Sumatra Police, Friday, August 22.
