President Of The Labor Party Alludes To The Case Of Immanuel Ebenezer During The Demonstration: The Ministry Of Manpower Is The Warehouse For Corruption

JAKARTA - The President of the Labor Party, Said Iqbal, mentioned the extortion case that dragged the former Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer or Noel. Said called the Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) a hotbed of corruptors.

"We want this Noel case not to happen again. It's the Ministry of Manpower, the warehouse is corruption, the outsourcing agenda permit is potential for corruption, the TKA permit is potential for corruption, the K3 certification permit is potential for corruption," Said told reporters in front of the DPR Building, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 28.

"Many permits in the Ministry of Manpower have to do with the company. That's a corruption warehouse," he continued.

Therefore, Said encouraged the ratification of the Asset Confiscation Bill (RUU) as an effort to close the space for corruption, one of which was in the Ministry of Manpower.

"So there must be proof inverse, there must be confiscation of key assets so that there are no other Noels," he said.

To note, thousands of workers held demonstrations in front of the DPR/MPR RI Building today, Thursday, August 28.

There were six demands that were echoed by the workers in the action, including:

1. Remove Outsourcing and Reject Cheap Wages (HOSTUM). Increase Minimum Wage in 2026 by 8.5 to 10.5 percent.

2. Stop LAYOFFS: Form A Layoff Task Force

3. Labor Tax Reform: Raise PTKP (No Tax Income) IDR 7,500,000,-per month, Remove severance pay, Remove THR taxes, Remove JHT taxes, Remove discrimination on women's taxes.

4. Sahkan Draft Undang Ketenagakerjaan Tanpa Omnibuslaw.

5. Sahkan RUU Perampasan Asset: Berantas Korupsi.

6. Revision of the Election Bill: Design of the 2029 Election System.
