DKI Transportation Agency Opens Opportunities To Apply Odd Even In TB Simatupang

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, admitted that his party is currently reviewing the opportunity for the odd-even system to be implemented along Jalan TB Simatupang, South Jakarta.

This is one way that can be done to reduce the impact of severe congestion in TB Simatupang, which the public continues to complain about.

"The proposal of experts, Jakarta transportation observers, one of which is odd-even, we will conduct a comprehensive study whether it is currently a necessity," said Syafrin in the Monas area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, August 27.

So far, the DKI Provincial Government is carrying out a number of steps to unravel the density of traffic on Jalan TB Simatupang.

It is known, currently there are a number of projects that are carried out at the same time to partially suspend the road. The speed of the vehicle has become stagnant. Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government will reduce the cooperation between the excavation projects there.

"We are reducing the working area of the project, but still by prioritizing the principles of K3's safety and work security, it is our guideline," said Syafrin.

"For example, in segment 4 for IPAL development, there, from a work area length of 35 meters, we have shortened it to 20 meters. This is while what we can do, at least it can provide better smoothness than users in the region," he continued.

In the analysis of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, there is a bottleneck or narrowing of roads due to the off-ramp of the JORR Toll Road at kilometer 21 of the Cipete-Pondok Labu section on Jalan TB Simatupang. This condition exacerbates the volume of congestion. Therefore, the government will close the exit of the toll road in the afternoon.

"We propose for the time being, regulating for smooth traffic to occur at that point for the Cipete-Pondok Labu exit toll, this is in the afternoon peak to close," he added.
