PT SSI Explains The Case Of Rp530 Million Atm Machine Break-in At Ngurah Rai Airport

DENPASAR - PT Swadharma Sarana Informatika (SSI), Denpasar, Bali, explained the case of atm machine break-in by an employee named Rahadian Pratama aka Radit (34). Radit has been named as a suspect in an ATM break-in that costs up to Rp530 million.

Chairman of PT SSI Denpasar Branch, Bali, I Putu Arta Sedana said the party harmed in this case is not the bank that owns the ATM machine.

"It is true (if the harmed) PT SSI, if the bank does not exist, because it's our responsibility," sedana said when contacted Tuesday, May 11.

Denpasar Police on Monday, May 10 released a case of ATM break-in at Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali. The suspect in the break-in is an employee in charge of monitoring and charging ATMs.

"This, a case of embezzlement in office. That is, the suspect is given a task by the company where he works, namely PT SSI, where, his job is to supervise and charge the ATM," said Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, in Denpasar Mapolresta.

This ATM break-in was conducted in July-December 2020.  The perpetrator drained money at an ATM machine in the area of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali. At that time, the perpetrator was in charge of supervising and replenishing money at the BRI ATM machine.

Police said the offender deliberately set up a troubled cash machine. The office then asked this officer to check and repair the ATM machine. This is where the perpetrator drains the contents of the ATM.

"In order not to read problems at atm machines, the perpetrators crammed money sensors in atm tapes by using bottles of mineral water or cans so that the tapes read to contain a lot of money," added Jansen.

"For the crime scene one ATM at the airport, but 8 tapes that he broke at the same ATM as many as 5 times. So he can spend the money," he explained.

The money from the ATM break-in is used for sprees. The offender in the inquest confessed to acting alone.
