South Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Forms Team To Overcome Floods In Palembang, Coordination Of Handling With BPBD

The South Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Unit (Sumsel) formed a SAR team for operations in the event of an emergency handling of natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes in Palembang City.

The Commander of Battalion A Pioneer of the South Sumatra Police Satbrimob, Kompol Irfan Abdul Gofar, said that his party formed a SAR team for operations in the event of emergency handling of natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes in Palembang City.

"We have prepared two troop companies in this team for handling in the event of an emergency disaster in Palembang, to help BPBD," he said in Palembang, Tuesday, as reported by Antara.

He added that the troops were also equipped with basic SAR equipment, in operating in collaboration with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).

In addition, his party also runs other programs that come into contact with the community and synergize with the Palembang City Government, such as environmental hygiene programs.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Palembang, Ratu Dewa, hopes to continue to synergize with the South Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade. As in terms of cleaning the city starting from the village and sub-district levels.

"We hope that we can continue to collaborate to support each other for the progress and handling of problems such as the cleanliness of the community environment in Palembang City," he said.
