JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto conferred the honorary sign of the Star of the Republic of Indonesia Utama to General TNI (Ret.) AM Hendropriyono at an event held at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday, August 25.

Prabowo pinned the honorary sign to Hendropriyono, who was wearing a black suit and skullcap.

The award was given for Hendropriyono's extraordinary services in the field of defense and intelligence through his service as a high-ranking TNI officer and Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).

In his service, Hendropriyono led various strategic operations and played a role in the development of the national security system.

Apart from Hendropriyono, there are a number of figures who also received honorary signs of the Presidential Star of the Republic of Indonesia from President Prabowo, including the Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament Puan Maharani, the Chairman of the MPR RI Ahmad Muzani, and the Chairman of the DPD RI Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin.

In addition, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Special Advisor to the President for Politics and Security Wiranto, and General Chairperson of the Indonesian Armed Forces Retired Association (Pepabri) General (Ret.) TNI Agum Gumelar.

President Prabowo confers an Honorary Sign to 141 figures. The awarding of the Honorary Certificate is part of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.

The recipients of honors came from ministers, state high institution officials, government and non-ministerial institutions, TNI and Polri officials, Indonesian citizens with professional backgrounds, to cultural observers.

These names have been determined through Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78/TK/TH 2025 concerning the Awarding of Honorary Signs.
