JAKARTA - President Donald Trump announced a massive investigation into the tariff on furniture entering the United States.
"In the next 50 days, the investigation will be completed, and furniture coming from other countries to the United States will be subject to tariffs at a predetermined amount," Trump wrote at Truth Social as reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Saturday, August 23.
He said the move would bring the furniture business back to the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, and other states across the country.
US furniture imports reached around 26.4 billion US dollars (approximately IDR 428 trillion) last year, with mainly imported sources from Vietnam, China, Canada, Mexico, and Italy.
