Pramono Claims Congestion In Jakarta Down Even Though TB Simatupang Street Is 'Hororor'

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung claims that congestion in Jakarta has decreased despite severe congestion in the Simatupang TB area, South Jakarta.

"It can be seen as a whole, actually congestion is currently falling significantly but the horror congestion in TB Simatupang has indeed occurred," he said after giving directions to Universitas Brawijaya Jakarta Campus students in Jakarta, Saturday, August 23, as reported by ANTARA.

He admitted that the current development factor has caused the area to experience severe congestion.

Pram admitted that he had officially asked those who carried out the construction to join forces who crossed the road to be minimized. If the project has been completed, the team there will be immediately opened.

In addition, for traffic regulation at locations where there are joint projects, police officers, the Department of Transportation or the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) should be alerted.

"I don't want Pak Ogah to be there at that location," he said.

Pram also approved the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency's proposal to open sidewalks and a number of existing barriers as temporary solutions so that traffic flow returns to normal. "The most important thing is that this congestion can be resolved," he said.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) together with the Bina Marga Office would use sidewalks on Jalan TB Simatupang to overcome congestion that often occurs at that location.

"We with the Bina Marga Office will take a few sidewalks, especially those at TB Simatupang, in the Cibis Park area so that the width of the traffic lane, at least we can return two lanes," said Head of DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency Syafrin Liputo at Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (221/8).

Syafrin explained that this effort was carried out because of the excavation project in the area. One of them is the excavation of drinking water pipelines.

Because of the cooperation that covered the project, this is what causes TB Simatupang Street to often experience traffic jams.
