BANDUNG Deputy Chairman of the West Java DPRD, Iwan Suryawan, expressed his appreciation for the achievements of managing the West Java Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) in 2025 which was considered the best nationally by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Based on data from the Directorate General of Regional Finance, as of August 10, 2025, West Java's revenue realization reached 54.67 percent of the target of around IDR 31 trillion. In terms of spending, West Java recorded the highest absorption among 38 provinces with 52.08 percent. Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian even said that West Java's fiscal performance was considered ideal nationally.
Responding to this, Iwan assessed that the success of accelerating spending showed the seriousness of the West Java Provincial Government in ensuring that the community really felt the benefits of the budget.
"We at the West Java DPRD certainly appreciate the achievement of regional spending absorption which is the highest nationally. This shows that there are serious efforts so that the budget is not only a number, but is present for the community," said Iwan, Friday, August 22.
However, he gave a special note regarding the regional income side. West Java is currently ranked 12th nationally with a revenue realization of 54.67 percent. According to him, this position still leaves room for improvement so that fiscal resilience is stronger.
"In terms of income, we really need to admit that there is still potential that has not been optimally exploited. There are still other provinces with higher achievements. This is a joint reflection to maximize PAD-producing sectors," he added.
Iwan encouraged the West Java Provincial Government to be more aggressive in exploring innovative new sources of income, such as the digital economy, local culture-based tourism, to the development of an environmentally friendly creative economy. However, he reminded that the acceleration of spending should not only be oriented to absorption rates alone, but also the quality of the program.
Every rupiah spent must target the strategic needs of the community. High spending will be more meaningful if the benefits are really felt," said the PKS politician.
He also appreciated the cross- OPD coordination in accelerating the auction and procurement of goods/services even though they were constrained by the transition of the e-Catalog system from version 5 to version 6. Proactive steps from the Regional Secretary and the ranks should be appreciated. This collaborative spirit must be maintained," he said.
