Experiencing Error, Parking Booking System Is Now Operational On 11 Roads In Jakarta

JAKARTA - Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, revealed that the online parking reservation feature via the JakParkir app has been implemented on 11 roads in Jakarta.

The eleven roads that have implemented the parking reservation system are Pegambiran Street, Cikini Raya Street, Juanda Raya Street, Raden Patah Street, Adityawarman Street, Tebah Raya Street, Sunan Ampel Street, Muara Karang Raya Street, Petongkangan Street, Pintu Kecil Street, and Perniagaan Timur Street.

"For JakParkir, last week there were eight roads. This week, the number has increased to 11. This brings the number of roads managed digitally through the JakParkir app," Syafrin said at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday, August 21.

Syafrin acknowledged that some time ago, the system in the JakParkir app, where the parking space unit (SRP) data available for reservation differed from the real-time conditions on the ground, was not available.

Meanwhile, there was no information stating that the JakParkir app was experiencing a system error, which confused users trying to make reservations. However, the system has now been fixed.

"There was a system error in the past. We did make a mistake there. When something happened, such as a booking, the app would still have an empty space, but it turned out to be filled in. This was a system error. So, we've fixed that now," explained Syafrin.

"But the point is, if someone tries to make a reservation and finds it difficult to access, for example, due to a system error, they can still arrive at the parking location and pay using the JakParkir app," he added.

Furthermore, Syafrin explained that parking payments using the JakParkir app are cashless, using electronic money cards and QRIS.

Parking reservations can be made online before arriving at the parking location. However, once a parking space has been reserved, the parking period is calculated.

"Once the person in question makes a booking, within the next few minutes, the meter will start running. (It will be recorded) that the parking space has been used," explained Syafrin.

Then, after the parking reservation is made, the officer will receive a notification and immediately mark the reserved parking space.

"Our officers at the on-street parking location will receive the notification and immediately place a cone, (marking) that the space has been booked," he added.
