JAKARTA - A specialist in motor vehicle theft (curanmor) with the initials EP Central Lampung syndicate was arrested by Traffic Police members while carrying out a Lintas Jaya operation on Ring Road Cengkareng Street, West Jakarta, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, afternoon.

The perpetrator with the initials EP, a resident of Sendang Asih Village, Central Lampung, was arrested after being involved in various motorcycle theft cases in Jakarta and its surroundings.

West Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Head, Kompol Natasha Yudhasoka said, the arrest of the perpetrator began when officers were carrying out operations. They suspect two motorcyclists who look nervous.

When he was about to be examined, the driver tried to run away and turn the motorbike around, so he was chased.

"The perpetrator with the initials EP was arrested by officers, while one of his colleagues fled," said Kompol Natasha when confirmed, Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

When arrested, the officers then conducted a search and found a number of evidences from the perpetrator's gossip bag.

Polantas confiscated one FN type homemade firearm along with two rounds of ammunition, two T letter keys with four key eyes, and a mandate knife complete with a sarong.

Furthermore, the perpetrator and the evidence were handed over to the Cengkareng Police for further investigation.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Parman Gultom, confirmed the handover of the perpetrator.

"It is true, there has been a handover regarding the arrest of the perpetrators of theft, currently the handling has been transferred to the West Jakarta Metro Police," he said.
