Bengkulu Police Secure Head Of Office Of Hit-and-Run Perpetrators On Panjang Beach

Bad things happened to AA, a resident who was dancing in the Panjang Beach tourist attraction area, Bengkulu. He became a victim of a hit-and-run by a head of service in the Bengkulu City Government. Although he was rushed to the hospital, the victim's life could not be saved.

The Head of Traffic at the Bengkulu Police, AKP Aan Setiawan, confirmed the incident. According to him, the victim was hit from behind during a hijab. After hitting the victim, the perpetrator's vehicle had hit an electric pole before finally running away.

"The victim died even though he was taken to the hospital. The perpetrator immediately fled, but from the characteristics of the vehicle we finally managed to find," said Aan, Tuesday, August 19.

Aan explained that the initial information stated that the perpetrator's official vehicle was blue with the right front light damaged and the left mirror released. From that feature, the police managed to identify a vehicle that turned out to belong to an official head.

When checked, the perpetrator covered the vehicle with tarpaulin. The condition of the car is in accordance with the characteristics, namely the right light is damaged and the rearview mirror is loose," explained Aan.

From the results of the examination, the perpetrator admitted that he fled for fear of being judged by residents. He said that at the time of the incident he wanted to participate in planting coconut trees in the Panjang Beach area.

"After escaping, the perpetrator kept the car at home and covered it with a tarp to make it unknown," he continued.

Initially, the perpetrator evaded on the grounds that he had an accident at another location. However, after being taken to the scene, he finally admitted his actions. "Currently we have secured the perpetrator," said Aan.

The police appealed to the public to be careful when exercising on the highway. Residents are advised to use the jogging route that has been provided for safety.
