JAKARTA - In order to enliven the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, PT Transport Jakarta (Transjakarta) presents a new exterior color to the seven bus fleets.
The new exterior color is presented in the framework of a program entitled "Progress from Me" which is a collaboration between Transjakarta and the Ministry of Creative Economy, the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) and Tale X.
"The creative economy is 'the new engine of growth'," said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar in Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, August 16.
This collaboration presents Indonesia's local "7 Intellectual Property" (IP) which has been curated by the Ministry of Creative Economy, displayed through a colorful visual "branding" on the exterior of 7 Transjakarta bus fleets.
"Through the 'Progress From Me' campaign in celebration of 80th independence, we want to invite the public to know, love and be proud to be the nation's children," he said.
This step, he said, became a symbol of commitment to bringing local creators' works not only known domestically, but also introduced to the global stage.
"The spirit of 'Progress From Me' means that big changes start from the small steps of each individual, from everyday stories that can be poured through local IPs," he said.
The seven IPs introduced in this campaign are Tenka Street, Beemala, Agus, Starla x Zivana, Miyu, Kembu Club and IP Jakarta JeKaTe, which each represent the diversity of Indonesian ideas, culture and characters.
President Director of Transjakarta, Welfizon Yuza emphasized that public transportation has great potential as an inclusive creative promotional medium.
"The Transjakarta bus is not only a means of mobility, but also a platform that can inspire," he said.

"Jakarta as a global city has become a storefront that brings together local culture with an international audience, and Transjakarta is ready to be its liaison," he said.
Co Founder Tale X, Deasy Sutanto said that this initiative is a real example of how cross-sectoral synergy can revive the creative ecosystem.
"Local creators' work deserves to be present in public spaces. The 7 bus parade is a moving stage that calls for a message that Indonesia's IP is ready to go global," he said.
The "Progress From Me" campaign will last for a month or two, with the Transjakarta fleet crossing strategic routes in Jakarta, passing through the city center, tourist areas and crowd points.
This campaign is expected to expand the reach of local creator promotion as well as foster a sense of pride in Indonesia's cultural identity.
