The National Police Allows PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya To Continue To Produce Rice Even Though The Machine Is Confiscated As Evidence

The head of the National Police's Food Task Force (Kasatgas), Brigadier General Helfi Assegaf, has allowed PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya to continue producing rice even though the processing machine has been confiscated as evidence in the case of the circulation of mixed rice that is not in accordance with quality standards. This decision was taken to maintain rice availability and price stability in the market.

The case of mixed rice emerged after Bareskrim Polri named a number of suspects, including the President Director of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, Employee Gunarso, together with the Director of Operations RL and the Head of the Quality Control Section RP.

In addition, the President Director of PT PIM, AI, as the head of the factory, and DO, Head of Quality Control of PT PIM, was also named a suspect. The confiscation of rice processing machines was carried out as part of the collection of evidence in the investigation of this case.

Helfi's statement was delivered on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Jakarta, in response to the request of the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, so that the police do not confiscate the company's production machines. This case itself is centered at PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya.

Helfi explained that the permit to continue using confiscated production machines was given solely to maintain the availability of rice in the market, especially to stabilize prices. This is to maintain the availability of rice in the market," Helfi told VOI. This decision answers concerns about the potential scarcity of rice due to the confiscation of production equipment.

How is the Provision? Even though it is permitted, PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya must meet strict requirements, one of which is maintaining the quality and quantity of rice composition in accordance with the rules stated in the packaging.

"With a note, keep the contents as stated in the composition in the packaging," said Helfi. This step is intended to ensure that the produced rice still meets quality standards and does not harm consumers.

Apart from Gunarso Employees, RL, and RP from PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, other suspects in this case are AI and DO from PT PIM. The determination of this suspect shows the alleged involvement of various parties in the production and quality control chain which causes the circulation of mixed rice.

This case is in the spotlight because it has the potential to disrupt public confidence in the quality of rice in the market. The police continue to carry out investigations to ensure law enforcement while maintaining food stability in Jakarta.
