JAKARTA - Talks between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are likely to take hours.

"The Russian side hopes that the meeting between Putin and Trump in Alaska will end productively," state media RIA Novosti said, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as reported by CNN, Friday, August 15.

Peskov also said the one-on-one talks between Trump and Putin would be held with the participation of advisors/adjutants, without explaining which aides would be involved.

The Kremlin said earlier this week leaders of the two countries would be assisted by translators during a one-on-one conversation at the start of the summit, before continuing talks over business lunch.

President Trump's meeting with President Putin will take place at 11.00 in Anchorage, Alaska, Friday, August 15 local time or 02.00 WIB.

Trump left the White House on Friday morning local time and will leave Anchorage at 17.45 Alaskan Time on the same day.
