'I Like The Jidat' Of The Colonizers, The Republic Of Indonesia Is Affected: President Prabowo Talks About Border Lines

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that the issue of the border line faced by Indonesia and neighboring countries was a legacy of Dutch and British colonialism.

"We are especially with our neighbors, we want to solve all problems. There are sometimes problems with border lines, this problem is a legacy from colonialists, a legacy from the invaders," Prabowo said in a state speech at the MPR RI Annual Session at the DPR/MPR RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

"Netherlands came with England, he made a line with his forehead, he made a line. What makes us bothered now, right? We want to be hit by Malaysia, we are friends with Malaysia, we are in the same group. But always the politics of divide et impera is always there," added the President.

Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia and Malaysia have a close relationship as a nation so that efforts to fight against each other must be avoided.

"Let us not be naive, let us not continue to be pitted against each other," said the Head of State.

On that occasion, the President also said that Indonesian foreign politics adhered to the principle of being active free with the approach "a thousand friends too few, one opponent too many" and did not side with any block.

According to Prabowo, the policy is expected to maintain peace with all parties and avoid conflict.

"We remain in the non-block line, non-alignment lines, we will not side with any block. This is what we convey everywhere that we are free to be active, we want peace with everyone," said Prabowo.

Annual Session of the MPR RI in 2025, Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI in 2025, as well as State Speech of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in the context of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence to be held at the Nusantara Building, MPR Complex, DPR, DPD RI, Jakarta, Friday.

The event was attended by more than 600 council members, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, ministers and deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, a number of public figures, representatives of friendly countries, and leaders of political parties.
