Police Ensure Legal Process Of Intimidating Mask Doctors At Sekayu Hospital

PALEMBANG - Musi Banyuasin Police (Muba), South Sumatra, has confirmed the case of intimidation and threats from doctors at the Sekayu Hospital.

Muba Police Chief AKBP God Parlasro Sinaga said his party received reports from the Sekayu Hospital and the victim, doctor Syahpri, directly.

Related to that, the team led by the Criminal Investigation Unit immediately carried out an investigation into the case.

"We make sure it will be processed according to applicable procedures. The proof is this morning, I immediately assisted the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Head of Propam to ensure that this case runs according to the process," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 14.

His party is currently examining two witnesses. However, he could not confirm what article would be charged to the perpetrators because the investigation process was still ongoing.

"It will be seen during the investigation process, what is the article violated. If these two parties will meet later to seek goodness (peace), of course we facilitate it. As long as there is no legal process, the legal process will continue," he explained.

The incident began when the patient's family was suspected of threatening and forcing dr. Syahpri took off his mask while examining the patient in the VIP ICU room at Sekayu Hospital.

According to dr. Syahpri, this action threatens his safety as a medical personnel and is against health protocols, because he has worked according to hospital Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
