JAKARTA - Former Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Bengkulu Province Mufran Imron was arrested by members of the Subdivision of Corruption (Tipikor) of the Directorate of Special Criminal Reserse (Ditreskrimsus) of Bengkulu Police for alleged involvement in the alleged corruption of KONI grant funds amounting to Rp11 billion.

Reported by Antara, Monday, May 10, Head of Public Relations of Polda Bengkulu Kombes Pol Sudarno in Bengkulu, Monday, said Mufran was arrested at Aston Titanium Square Hotel and Apartment, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, on Friday, May 7.

Sudarno added that Mufran is currently being held in the bengkulu police detention center (Rutan) to facilitate the investigation process and also prevent the suspect from escaping and eliminating evidence, considering the suspect has been uncooperative.

Previously Mufran had disappeared since the case of alleged corruption of KONI grant funds in Bengkulu Province was rolling in Bengkulu Police.

Mufran has only once complied with investigators' calls while the investigation into the case is still at the investigative stage.
