Not Only Beef, Other Food Prices In Jakarta Also Rise Ahead Of Eid Al-Fitr

JAKARTA - Acting Head of the Food Security, Marine, Agriculture (KPKP) Office of DKI Jakarta Suharini Eliawati said a number of foodstuffs in the capital rose ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

Not only beef, the price of chicken, chicken eggs, garlic, shallots, large red chilies, curly red chilies and red cayenne peppers are also observed to increase.

Suharini said that beef has increased, from Rp136,650 per kilogram on April 26, 2021 to Rp140,000 to Rp160,000 as of May 7, 2021.

"The increase in beef prices is due to rising demand and rising base prices from importer countries," Suharini said in a statement on Monday, May 10.

Then, said Suharini, chicken meat from the average price of Rp37,600 per kilogram on April 26, 2021 rose to Rp40,409 as of May 7, 2021.

"The increase in the price of chicken meat is due to rising demand and the rising price of corn feed raw materials," said Suharin.

The price of shallots, large red chilies, curly red chilies and red cayenne peppers with an increase range of Rp148 to Rp 568 per kilogram.

This is due to the rainy season in producing areas and rising demand. However, the price of rice, cooking oil, and granulated sugar remains and does not rise.

Furthermore, Suharini said, from January 2021 to May 12, 2021, the Provincial Government of DKI through the related OPD, Bulog and bumd food continue to conduct market operations in 5 areas of DKI Jakarta and the title of Pasar Murah using Mobile Food Truck to the village.

"We sell strategic food at affordable prices," said Suharini.

The price of cheap food held by the Provincial Government of Dki Jakarta for rice Is Rp 8,800 to Rp11,900 per kg, frozen buffalo meat Rp80,000 per kg, frozen beef Rp100,000 to Rp104,000 per kg, chicken meat Rp31,500 per kg.

Then, chicken eggs Rp21,500 per kg, cooking oil Rp14,000 per kg, granulated sugar Rp12,000, garlic Rp20,000 per kg, shallots Rp25,000 per kg, curly red chili Rp30,000 per kg, red cayenne pepper Rp40,000 per kg.
