DKI Transportation Agency Reveals Cause Of Accident In Corridor 9 Transjakarta

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, revealed that his party analyzed the causes of accidents that often occur in corridors of 9 Transjakarta. Busway separators on these routes are often victims of car and truck collisions.

Based on Transjakarta's report to the Transportation Agency, the traffic accident that occurred in corridor 9 Transjakarta with the Pinang Ranti-Pluit route has varying time, from day to night.

Meanwhile, Syafrin ensured that the road conditions in corridor 9 contained sufficient lighting to illuminate the road. Thus, it is concluded that the accident did not occur due to lack of lighting.

"The majority of accidents by heavy vehicles (trucks) that hit the Transjakarta separator were due to human errors due to fatigue and sleepiness, and did not carry vehicle identity documents and driving legality," Syafrin told reporters, Thursday, August 13.

From the results of the evaluation of the Department of Transportation and Transjakarta of traffic accident-prone points along corridor 9 Transjakarta, currently 7 chevron signs are installed at the end of the separator.

The details are at the Semanggi 1 Toll Gate, MT Haryono Signature Park, Dharmais Hospital, DPR RI, Youth Gate Bus Stop, Cawang Halim Exit, Pancoran Bus Stop, and installing solar cell road markers at the end of the separator at Tebet Hospital.

"Vehicles are advised to always obey traffic signs, maintain a safe distance, focus on driving, adjust driving speed, and understand road characteristics to avoid traffic accidents on the road," said Syafrin.

For information, the 9 Transjakarta corridor has a total track length of 2 directions along 55.57 kilometers. There are 23.19 kilometers of Transjakarta separator or 41.73 percent of the total length of the corridor of the Pinang Ranti-Pluit route.
