ISNU: Religious Organizations Have A Strengthening Role In Social Resilience

BANDA ACEH - General Chairperson of the Central Board of the Nahdlatul Ulama Bachelors Association (PP ISNU) Prof. Dr. Phil H Kamaruddin Amin stated that religious community organizations have a vital role in maintaining unity and strengthening the nation's social resilience.

"Religious organizations are an important part of Indonesia's most solid social infrastructure in caring for diversity," he said in Lhokseumawe, Saturday.

The statement was made on the sidelines of inaugurating the management of the ISNU Regional Leadership of Aceh Province for the solemn period of 2024'2029 and the ISNU Branch Leadership throughout Aceh for the 2025'2029 period.

He explained that the existence of organizations such as NU and Muhammadiyah became social glue in the midst of pluralism.

According to him, without these mass organizations, Indonesia's diversity is more prone to divisions.

"ISNU must synergize with the government at all levels. We have many experts from various fields who can be empowered to make a real contribution," he said.

On this occasion, Kamaruddin also highlighted the issue of stunting, poverty, and divorce which had an impact on family resilience. Where about 17'18 percent of the 5 million babies born every year, are stunted.

"If we don't handle this problem, it's hard to imagine that Indonesia could become a developed country," said Kamaruddin who is also the Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion.

Chairman of PW ISNU Aceh Prof. Dr. Ismail Fahmi Arrauf Nasution is committed to making ISNU a moral and intellectual force in Aceh.

"We want to serve, berekmah, and continue to find the best version of ourselves through the service of mass organization," he said.

This activity is coupled with the Madrasah of Acehnese ISNU Cadres which will be held on August 8, 2025.

Madrasah Cadres in 2025 have the theme of Building Civilizations, Performing Science, Serving the Ummah and was attended by around 150 participants.
