North Sumatra Bulog: Rice Distribution Of Food Assistance Reaches 75 Percent

The Regional Office of North Sumatra (North Sumatra) Bulog noted that the distribution of food aid rice to beneficiary families in the region has reached 75 percent.

"Food assistance has been distributed 75 percent, distributed as much as 12,000 tons of rice, out of a total of 16,655 tons that must be distributed," said North Sumatra Bulog Regional Leader Budi Cahyanto in Medan, Saturday.

Budi said that as many as 12,000 tons had been distributed to around 625,000 of the total 832,772 beneficiary families in North Sumatra for the June-July 2025 period.

Furthermore, he said the food aid had been distributed to regencies/cities in North Sumatra, such as Medan City, Binjai City, Deli Serdang Regency, Serdang Bedagai Regency.

"There are only areas that have not been maximally distributed in the Nias Islands, Tapanuli Regency and Samosir Regency," he said.

According to him, the distribution of aid in the area has not been maximized, it is only a matter of time. For example, in the Nias area, apart from socializing to people who receive benefits, they are also waiting for the ship's departure schedule to the location.

"We are optimistic that the distribution of food aid in the area is on time which has been scheduled until mid-August 2025," he said.

Budi said that in collaboration with the village or sub-district government, it is hoped that the distribution of food aid can be completed on time.

Perum Bulog previously ensured readiness to distribute rice food assistance to 18.27 million food aid recipients (PBP) throughout Indonesia.

Bulog Director of Operations and Public Services M Suyamto previously said that the distribution was carried out after the issuance of an official assignment from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) through Letter Number 170/TS.03.03/K/7/2025 regarding the Assignment of Distribution of Rice Food Assistance for the Period of June and July 2025.
