Riza Chalid On Attorney General's Wanted List, Implicated In Oil Corruption Case

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has announced that Riza Chalid will be designated a fugitive or added to the wanted list (DPO). This step is taken as a requirement for issuing a red notice.

"He will be designated as a DPO next week," said Anang Supriatna, Head of the AGO's Legal Information Center, to VOI, Thursday, August 7.

The fugitive status was determined because Riza Chalid consistently failed to attend questioning in the alleged corruption case involving crude oil and refinery product management at PT Pertamina Persero Sub Holding-KKKS (Contract Contractor Contractor) for the 2018-2023 period.

Furthermore, the designation also aims to fulfill the requirements for issuing a red notice for Riza Chalid.

This step was taken to repatriate Riza Chalid to Indonesia. Rumors circulated that the oil businessman was in Malaysia and had even married a relative of the neighboring country's Sultanate.

"One of the requirements for a red notice is to have been summoned three times as a suspect and a DPO," said Anang.

Since being named a suspect, investigators have scheduled three questioning sessions, specifically on July 24th and 28th, and August 4th, 2025. However, Riza Chalid never attended.

Muhammad Riza Chalid (MRC), the beneficial owner of PT Orbit Terminal Merak, is one of nine individuals named suspects in the alleged corruption case involving the management of crude oil and refined products at PT Pertamina Persero Sub Holding-KKKS (Contractor Contract ... Then, Dwi Sudarsono (DS), Vice President and Product Manager of PT Pertamina Persero Head Office from 2018 to 2020; Martin Haendra Nata (MH), Business Development Manager of PT Travigura from 2019 to 2021; and Indra Putra Harsono (IP), Business Development Manager of Mahameru Kencana Abadi.

They were named suspects for allegedly directly appointing the Merak fuel terminal at a high rental price that was unprofitable for Pertamina. They also illegally developed the Pertalite product formula.
