JAKARTA - The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) successfully thwarted the smuggling of six containers of ball presses entering Indonesia from Malaysia on Wednesday, August 6.

Indonesian Navy Commander (Pangkoarmada), Vice Admiral Denih Hendrata, told ANTARA via text message that the thwarting was due to cooperation between the TNI AL and Customs.

"The Joint F1QR Team from Lantamal XII, the Mamba 25 Intelligence Operations Task Force, and West Kalimantan Customs successfully thwarted the smuggling of six containers of ball presses from Malaysia," Denih said, as quoted by ANTARA on Thursday, August 7.

Denih explained that his team initially received information about an attempt to smuggle the illegal goods from Malaysia to West Kalimantan.

Based on this information, his team then proceeded to investigate the location where the goods would be imported, namely the Temas Container Depot, Pontianak Container Port, West Kalimantan.

"Sure enough, officers found six containers full of ball presses packed in sacks," he said.

Denih stated that two 40-foot containers had been secured at the Lantamal XII Patrol Unit. Another four 40-foot containers, still at the Container Port, have been sealed by the Joint Team.

Based on preliminary inspection results, the ball press was planned to be shipped from Kalimantan to Jakarta.

The joint team's inspection process is ongoing. Denih assured that his team will continue its efforts to thwart the smuggling of illegal goods into Indonesia.
