JAKARTA - Israel has arrested 18,500 Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank of illegal settlers in East Jerusalem as of Sunday, August 3.
Citing AFP, Monday, August 4, the number of victims has been recorded since Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the Israeli military to invade Gaza in October 2023.
The Authority for Prisoners and Release and the Palestinian Detention Center revealed in its report that the figures included 570 women and 1,500 children, including 194 journalists, 49 of whom were still being held.
International human rights groups (HAM) reported that at least 75 prisoners had died in Israeli prisons since October 7, 2023, including 46 prisoners from the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Israeli authorities are still detaining the bodies of 72 prisoners among 83 detainees who died before and after October 2023.
The report includes Palestinians kidnapped from their homes during the Israeli invasion or at military checkpoints.
