Amnesty To Hasto Is Considered A Commemoration For Jokowi Loyalists In Prabowo's Government

JAKARTA - The executive director of the IPO, Dedi Kurnia Syah, assessed that President Prabowo Subianto's decision to grant amnesty and abolition to Hasto Kristiyanto and Tom Lembong was a warning that could have an impact on the climate in the Red and White Cabinet.

"The Prabowo coalition dimension in the cabinet is certain to experience climate change, in addition to Jokowi loyalist figures, as well as political party elites who as long as they tend to maintain relations with Jokowi will think twice, Prabowo's political assertiveness in this case marks the victory of Prabowo's influence," said Dedi, Sunday, August 3, 2025.

In addition, the decision to pardon Hasto and Tom was a form of 'war' of influence between Prabowo and Jokowi, where Prabowo was considered superior by granting the amnesty and abolition.

Therefore, Dedi predicts that a number of PDI-P figures will enter the Red and White Cabinet if there is a movement to clean up Jokowi's people in the cabinet. PDIP itself will automatically join Prabowo if there is a cleaning of Jokowi loyalists. This means that PDIP could enter the cabinet replacing pro Jokowi figures," he added.

As is known, in her speech at the close of the 6th PDIP Congress, Megawati Soekarnoputri emphasized that her party was not in opposition and continued to support Prabowo Subianto's government policies as long as the policy was in favor of the people.
