JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung admitted that the DKI Provincial Government had held a meeting to discuss the fate of Taman Puring Market traders after the fire.
One of the temporary options is to relocate temporary traders to continue to be able to sell. Then, the DKI Provincial Government will repair the market so that it can be used again.
However, Pramono received a report that there were obstacles in realizing the plan.
"We had a meeting regarding the Puring Park and it turned out that there was a problem in the Puring Park in the field. From the South Jakarta Mayor's report, I asked to handle this, in the field there was indeed a problem," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, July 30.
Pasar Taman Puring dibangun di atas lahan milik Pemprov DKI. Namun, pengelolaannya tidak berada di bawah arahan Pemprov DKI maupun BUMD Perumda Pasar Jaya.
The traders, called Pramono, wanted to rebuild the Taman Puring Market with funds collected independently. So, currently Pramono has no intention of improving the market until there is a clear agreement with traders.
"I have heard about the residents (traders) who were affected, they want to be self-supported, so that in particular we will explore the Puring Park first," he explained.
Previously, there was pressure from the DKI Jakarta DPRD so that Pramono immediately relocated the Taman Puring Market merchants due to the fire that occurred on Monday, July 28 evening.
Secretary of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Mujiyono, assessed that the DKI Provincial Government needs to prioritize the sustainability of the economy of traders whose stalls are on fire so that they can still sell.
"The provincial government must immediately prepare a temporary relocation location that is feasible and orderly, so that traders can return to selling and economic recovery can start as soon as possible. Data on affected traders must be accurately documented," Mujiyono told reporters, Wednesday, July 30.
Mujiyono also urged a comprehensive audit of the electricity system, kiosk electrical installation, and fire protection facilities throughout traditional markets, including the installation of alarms, MCB, and APAR as mandatory standards.

"Because fires in Puring Park have occurred repeatedly, we think it is time to consider the option to relocate traders to a safer place or redevelop a toroal with a modern safety system," explained Mujiyono.
