Positive COVID-19 Passengers Pass At Ahmad Yani Airport, PPP Urges Erick Thohir To Evaluate AP I

JAKARTA - Secretary of the PPP DPR faction Achmad Baidowi regretted the passing of positive passengers for COVID-19 at Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang and flew to Pangkalan Bun.

According to him, the airport manager, namely Angkasa Pura I Semarang Branch, was negligent in monitoring the movement of passengers at the airport.

The member of Commission VI of the DPR said that the government must conduct a comprehensive evaluation at all airports managed by AP 1, particularly in monitoring passenger movements.

"The BUMN Ministry must reprimand AP I for being negligent," said Baidowi to reporters, Friday, May 7.

In addition, continued the man who is familiarly called Awiek, the weak supervision of the COVID-19 Task Force must also be a material for joint evaluation. Do not let this incident happen again at a later date, he said.

According to him, the government must ensure that all people who are involved in contact with patients are positive by tracking it.

"And positive patients must be quarantined and must be given a deterrent effect so that they do not happen again. Because their actions are already detrimental to society," said Baidowi.

Previously, a passenger with the initials MY escaped flying using a Citilink plane from General Ahmad Yani International Airport to Iskandar Pangkalan Bun Airport, Central Kalimantan, even though he was positive for COVID-19.

MY is a student studying in Semarang about to return to his hometown in Central Kalimantan.

General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) International Airport Branch Office, General Ahmad Yani Semarang, Hardi Ariyanto, acknowledged the negligence of officers in the field.

Hardi also apologized for the incident that caused unrest for other prospective aircraft passengers.
