Mataram Police Summon 2 Suspects Of Corruption In COVID-19 Masks, Including The Former Deputy Regent Of Sumbawa

JAKARTA - Mataram City Police (Polresta) investigators in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) summoned two suspects in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of COVID-19 masks for the 2020 fiscal year.

Head of the Mataram Police Satreskrim AKP Regi Halili said investigators summoned the last two suspects in this case to undergo examination as suspects.

"So, both of them were summoned for an examination next Thursday (July 31). We just sent a letter today," he said in Mataram, Monday, July 28, which was confiscated by Antara.

The two suspects in this case are women of six suspects. They are the former Deputy Regent (Wabup) of Sumbawa Dewi Noviyani and the wife of the suspect Wirajaya Kusuma, the former Head of the NTB Cooperatives and MSMEs Service, Rabiatul Adawiyah.

Regi hopes that with this official summons, both of them can come to the investigator as a form of cooperation in the case that has entered the final stage of the investigation.

"Hopefully everyone will be present so that the legal process can continue," he said.

Investigators in this case have carried out initial examinations and detentions of four other suspects.

They sequentially underwent examination and detention, ranging from Wirajaya Kusuma, Kamaruddin, Cholid Tomasoang Bulu, and finally M. Hariyadi Wahyudi.

In handling this case, the police have examined at least 120 witnesses, experts, and found the results of the audit of state losses from BPKP NTB worth Rp1.58 billion from the nominal procurement of Rp12.3 billion.

In determining the suspect, investigators applied Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law no. 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
