"What he said is not important," Trump told reporters at the White House on Friday, July 25.
"He's a very good person. I like him, but that statement is not weighted," Trump said.
President Macron previously said France would announce recognition of the Palestinian state, stressing the importance of ending the war and opening up access to humanitarian aid soon.
In his upload on social media X President Macron wrote, his choice was in accordance with France's commitment.
"In line with its historical commitment to fair and lasting peace in the Middle East, I have decided France will recognize the Palestinian State," Macron said.
