TANJUNG SELOR - North Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda) has again shown its commitment to eradicating illicit drug trafficking.

In the press conference held today, the Head of the Kaltara Police, Inspector General Pol. Hary Sudwijanto, accompanied by a number of main officials from the Kaltara Police and related agencies, revealed the success in disclosing four narcotics crimes throughout July 2025 in the jurisdiction of the Kaltara Police.

"Of the four cases, the total evidence of narcotics that was successfully secured reached 21,328.15 grams of crystal methamphetamine or about 21.3 kilograms (kg) with 10 suspects has been secured, consisting of 9 men and 1 woman.

"This disclosure is the result of cross-agency cooperation," said Police Chief Inspector General Hary Sudwijanto.

The two-star general explained that the first disclosure was made by the North Kalimantan Police's Narcotics Directorate, on July 9, 2025 at the Port of Malundung, Tarakan City.

"Two suspects, a man with the initials M and a woman with the initials S, were arrested with evidence of methamphetamine weighing 5,106.63 grams (5.1 kg)," explained Hary.

"The second case was revealed by the Bulungan Police on July 19, 2025. A suspect with the initials RA was secured on the side of Jalan Jambu, Tanjung Selor Hulu, with 3,003.03 grams of crystal methamphetamine or 3 kg," he added.

The Kaltara Police Chief emphasized that the Kaltara Police themselves still stand tall and consistent in the war on drugs, even though they face various forms of pressure and dynamics in the field.

"There is no room for drug offenders, both external and internal institutions. We will take firm action against any forms of violation in accordance with applicable legal regulations," he said.

The Kapolda added that the Kaltara Police had also taken several mitigation or prevention steps to maintain integrity.

"During the case handling process, we prevented irregularities with strict supervision by Bidpropam, Itwasda, and the investigator's supervisor," he concluded.
