530 Houses Of Residents Affected By Seroja Storm Will Be Built Soon In Kupang City

KUPANG - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will soon build 530 housing units for residents affected by the natural disaster of the Seroja tropical cyclone in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara.

"The team from the Ministry of PUPR has come down and looked at the location where the victims of the tropical cyclone Seroja natural disaster were relocated", said the Mayor of Kupang, Jefri Riwu Kore in Kupang as quoted by Antara, Thursday, May 6.

He said there were 530 houses built by the central government with type 36 houses with a land area of 108 square meters.

Jefri admitted that he did not know the exact allocation of the budget for the construction of 530 housing units because this was the issue of the Ministry of PUPR.

"We do not know how much the budget allocation is because it is the matter of the central government. The Kupang City Government is only preparing the location", he continued.

Jefri said that the Kupang City Government has prepared a land area of 12 hectares in Kampung Naituna RT20 / RW 08, Manulai II Village, Alak District as a relocation site for residents affected by the Seroja tropical cyclone disaster.

The land prepared for the construction of 530 housing units covers 10 hectares of the 12 hectares more land owned by the Kupang City government.

He hopes that the process of building 530 housing units will be carried out soon so that residents affected by natural disasters can immediately occupy the houses built by the central government.
