The Bodies Of 3 Victims Of The Burning Of KM Barcelona V Were Returned To Talaud

MANADO - Three victims who died as a result of the burning of KM Barcelona V in the waters of Talise, North Minahasa Regency, will be repatriated to Talaud Islands Regency, North Sulawesi.

"The plan is for the three bodies to be dispatched to Talaud for burial there," said General Manager of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 4 Manado Nurlayla Arbie as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 21.

He said the departure of the three bodies with the family had been coordinated with the Manado Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP) Office and shipping agents.

"For the time being, we are transiting into the waiting room to facilitate the mobilization process to the ship that will depart for Talaud Islands Regency," he said.

The ship, which will dispatch three bodies with the family, he said, will dock at pier four, close to the current transit location.

"So we will use KM Barcelona III to send three bodies and families to Talaud. KM Barcelona III was the one who previously helped evacuate passengers after KM Barcelona V caught fire," he said.

In addition to the bodies of three victims of KM Barcelona V, KM Barcelona III will also send passengers who have purchased tickets that are planned to depart using KM Barcelona V this afternoon.

"As scheduled, the three bodies will depart with KM Barcelona III at 17:00 WITA using pier four," he said.

Regarding the KM Barcelona V incident that caught fire on a voyage from Talaud to Manado, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 4 Manado provided facilities that made it easier for victims' families and passengers to return to Talaud.
