"Recently four members of the Nunukan Police have been arrested by a joint team from the National Police Headquarters and the Kaltara Police. The Kapolda explained that a team from the National Police Headquarters, namely the Criminal Investigation Unit and the Propam Division together with the Regional Police, ensured that the prosecution process was carried out objectively and with integrity.
"Based on the results of coordination, the handling of cases is fully carried out by the National Police Headquarters, as an anticipatory step towards potential links to wider networks in the Kaltara region," said the Kapolda.

In addition, the Kapolda also conveyed clarification regarding the issue of exchanging 12 kg of crystal methamphetamine with tawas.
"The issue that is crowded on social media is not true, we have carried out a thorough investigation and it is proven that two members of the Directorate of detention and evidence (Dittahti) of the Kaltara Police are trying to take evidence of methamphetamine to be exchanged for tawas but failed to do so," explained the regional police chief.
"This is also in accordance with the confessions of the two detainees who were examined as witnesses," he continued.
He emphasized that the results of the investigation at the Tahti Detention Center found the remaining tawas but the evidence of 12 kg of methamphetamine remained intact. "The results of the forensic laboratory test in Surabaya also prove that the methamphetamine content has not changed, in accordance with previous examinations," he said.
Currently, the case files of the two individuals have been transferred to the Public Prosecutor and are in the process of completing the transfer of the suspect and evidence to the prosecutor's office.
