JAKARTA - The target for the inauguration of the capital city from Jakarta to the archipelago, East Kalimantan, is not yet clear. The NasDem Party gave two proposals to President Prabowo Subianto to respond to this issue.
Deputy Chairperson of the NasDem Party, Saan Mustopa, revealed that these two strategic options were proposed to Prabowo to answer the uncertainty of the status and direction of IKN development.

First, NasDem asked Prabowo to immediately issue a presidential decision regarding the transfer of positions, functions, and roles of the State Capital from DKI Jakarta to IKN if the government is serious about moving the capital city.
In addition, a presidential decree was also issued regarding the gradual transfer of ministries/agencies and ASN to IKN, starting with the Vice President and several priority ministries/agencies.
"Active the infrastructure that has been built by placing the Vice President and ministries/agencies such as the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, the Ministry of PUPR, and Bappenas as pioneers," explained Saan.
With the office of the Vice President at IKN, according to Saan, development in eastern Indonesia is considered to be managed more closely, so that equitable development can be realized.
"The equitable distribution of national development, including Eastern Indonesia and Papua, is expected to be faster through the presence of the Vice President at IKN," said Saan.
