JAKARTA - United States (US) President Donald Trump reportedly plans to visit Pakistan in September.

If confirmed, the visit will be the first by a US president since nearly two decades ago, when President George W. Bush visited Pakistan in 2006.

Reported by Reuters on Thursday, July 17, a spokesman for Pakistan's foreign office when confirmed admitted that he was not aware of Trump's planned visit.

Both local TV news channels citing sources reported Trump would also visit India after arriving in Islamabad in September.

US-Pakistan relations experienced a rapid increase when Trump hosted Pakistan Army Commander Marshal Asim Munir at the White House last month in an unprecedented meeting.
