The Attorney General's Office Names 4 Suspects In The Chromebook Case, Including Stafsus Nadiem Jurist Tan

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named four suspects in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of laptops based on Chrome OS or Chromebooks. One of them is Jurist Tan, who is a special staff (stafsus) Nadiem Makarim while serving as Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbudristek).

Meanwhile, the other three suspects are the Director of SMP Kemendikbudristek, Mulatsyah; Director of the Ministry of Education and Culture Elementary School, Sri Wahyuningsih; and Consultant at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Ibrahim Arief.

"Against the four people, based on sufficient evidence, tonight, investigators named them as suspects," said Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Abdul Qohar, to reporters, Tuesday, July 15.

Of the four suspects, two of them, Mulatsyah and Sri Wahyuningsih, were detained at the Salemba Detention Center at the Attorney General's Office (AGO) for the next 20 days.

Then, for Ibrahim Arief it was decided to be a city prisoner. The reason is, because he suffers from chronic diseases

"Based on the results of the doctor's examination, the person concerned has a very chronic heart problem," said Qohar.

Meanwhile, Jurist Tan has not been detained. Because, his whereabouts are still abroad.

In this case, the four of them are suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph 1, Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law number 20 of 2021 concerning Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.
