Anies Criticizes Jokowi Absent At The UN Session, Puan Believes Prabowo Will Be More Active

JAKARTA - DPR Speaker Puan Maharani responded to Anies Baswedan's criticism highlighting the absence of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in the United Nations (UN) forum in recent years. It is known that Joko Widodo served as President of the Republic of Indonesia for 10 years before being replaced by Prabowo Subianto.

According to Puan, Anies' criticism was addressed to the leaders of the Republic of Indonesia last period. So that Puan believes that President Prabowo who leads the Republic of Indonesia will now be more active in attending international forums such as the United Nations (UN).

"That was in the past period. I certainly hope that President Prabowo, God willing, will be present at international forums such as the United Nations," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 15.

Moreover, some time ago, President Prabowo held a meeting with the Secretary General of the United Nations, attended the G20 Summit Conference in Brazil, and attended the BRICS Summit.

"Because we also see that President Prabowo is now very active in international forums," said Puan.

Previously, Anies Baswedan highlighted the absence of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in important meetings at the global level, including the UN General Assembly in recent years.

According to Anies, when Indonesia was led by Jokowi, Indonesia's representatives in the global forum were represented more often by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, not by the head of state.
