Farkhan Evendi Returns To Lead BMI, Ready To Guard Youth Towards The 2029 Election

The first Indonesian Young Star (BMI) National Conference to be held in Jakarta, Saturday, July 12, 2025.

JAKARTA Farkhan Evendi was re-elected as Chairman of Indonesian Young Stars (BMI), youth wing organization of the Democratic Party, in the first National Conference (Munas) to be held in Jakarta, Saturday, July 12. He was elected by acclamation after receiving full support from the National Conference participants.

This inaugural National Conference is a momentum for national consolidation for BMI cadres from all over Indonesia as well as a place to determine the management for the 2025-2029 period. This forum also affirms BMI's position in supporting President Prabowo Subianto's government and preparing for the Democratic Party's victory in the 2029 election.

A number of names were proposed in the screening process, such as Edi Kamal (Chairman of BMI Aceh/Member of the Aceh DPRD), Taufik Arahman (General Treasurer of BMI/Member of the Banten DPRD), Muhammad Zulfikar Suhardi (Member of the DPR RI), Herzaky Mahendra Putra (Head of the Democratic DPP Bakomstra), R. Aditiya Utama (Secretary General of BMI), and Mohamad Ghiffari Adha (Secretary of the DPD BMI Jakarta). However, Farkhan was finally elected by acclamation, signaling internal solidity and support for his leadership vision.

Known as Cak Farkhan, he emphasized that BMI must become a youth organization capable of making concrete contributions to the community.

"We must maintain the spirit of togetherness and continue to innovate," he said in an official statement. He also encouraged BMI cadres to become pioneers of Pancasila values and defenders of the interests of the people through concrete actions.

Under his leadership, BMI will focus on strengthening organizational structure, national consolidation, and preparing work programs that are in line with the Democratic Party's vision. This organization also targets to increase the participation of the younger generation in cross-sectoral national development.

"It's time to win, good people lead," said Farkhan in his speech.

The National Conference was also opened by the Deputy Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Afriansyah Noor, who emphasized the importance of youth roles in national development.

"BMI must become a laboratory for young cadres and the front line of the Democratic Party. In 2029, BMI cadres must sit in parliament, both at the central and regional levels," he said. Afriansyah also serves as Deputy Head of the Halal Product Guarantee Administration Agency (BPJPH).

This National Conference marks BMI's strategic steps in strengthening cadres' bases throughout Indonesia and taking an active role in overseeing government policies and the struggle for the aspirations of the people.
